This project was a six paragraph essay with a newspaper article and annotated bibliography for Biology. We were instructed to write a first person narrative on an animal (preferably a honeycreeper) who's species has experienced adaptive radiation.
Why I chose this work sample
I chose this work sample because I felt it demonstrated my effort and work I put into the project. I was also immensely proud of the outcome of my newspaper and my ability to finish this project in a timely manner and get every work piece turned in on or before the required due date.
21st Century Skill
The 21st century skill that was most used in this project was thinking and problem solving. I demonstrated problem solving through my project because I may have had a problem however due to being in virtual school it was hard to ask for help. So I pushed through and used problem solving.
My growth
Not only did I dig deeper into a copious amount of topics covered in this class, including adaptive radiation, founder effect, bottleneck effect, ancestors and more. I also got to develop a bird persona and learn about the Akialoa's mannerisms.
Area of improvement
I could've added my annotated bibliography on the bottom of my newspaper article. I could've also added my phylogenetic tree and my adaptive radiation tree to my newspaper.
